In my experience, newborn sessions work best at around 6 to 14 days and up to a month. At this age your baby is still very sleepy and can be easily transition from mum”s arm to dad’s arm without wake them up. My photography is natural and unposed.

The best time to book your Newborn Experience session is as soon as you know your due date, possibly at 12 weeks.

I will set a provisional date in my diary and amend it when you arrive home with your new baby. Babies can be up to two weeks early or late, so we need a bit of "wiggle room" in the diary. I therefore only book a maximum of three Newborn sessions in a week. To avoid disappointment, I would strongly advise booking early. I will only take a certain number of bookings in a month and I am regularly fully booked.

I work from my garden studio in North West London. The studio is a 2-minute walk from Dollis Hill Station (Jubilee line) in Willesden, NW10. I don’t offer “in -home “ sessions but if your home is really a truly special place for you let me know.

My Newborn Experience sessions usually take around 2 hours and 30 minutes, although I allow for longer if needed. This includes feeding, settling, and changing. Sessions always start at 9.30 am. The morning is the best time to shoot when babies tend to be sleepier as opposed to around lunchtime when they can be more unsettled. Some sessions can last longer (for example twins or when we have a very unsettled baby). For this reason, I only book one session per day. Due to the fact babies can sense our mood, I never rush the shoot, so please do not plan anything else on the day. I strictly follow a “baby-led” approach. Newborn babies cannot be rushed and sometimes some extra time is needed. Patience is the key to a great newborn session. It is after all an experience; your time and I want you to enjoy it.

You don't have to do anything special prior to your session. As a mum, I know how stressful it can be to get out of the house with a newborn (and maybe older siblings). I only want you to enjoy the day and arrive at the studio happy and stress- free. I always have some spare nappies and wipes if you have forgotten yours! Your baby will normally fall asleep in the car on the way to the studio but will usually wake up when undressed, once you have arrived. We then feed your baby and usually do not have to wait long after that for him/her to fall asleep. That is when we get those beautiful, dreamy newborn poses. The session is the moment when you can relax, cuddle your baby while I am taking some stunning images. Sometimes we will stop, and you can feed and cuddle your precious baby. Your reassuring voice is always a great help during the session. Newborn sessions typically last around 3 hours and sometimes longer if your baby is a light sleeper, very alert or hungry. The easiest way to ensure a sleepy baby is to nurse/ or bottle-feed on and off during the session. Please bring extra bottles if you are bottle-feeding or a dummy if you are using one.

You will be invited back to my studio around two-three weeks later to view to view your final gallery of over 40 beautifully enhanced and fully edited images. It’s at this point when you can upgrade your package (i.e. number of images) and if you wish to purchase any additional wall art. I truly believe that these beautiful timeless images deserve to be framed and displayed in high print quality print and frames.
